Fake or real?

if this is real, then somebody out there is a very happy man. hope he shares. BTW, where'd you get this file?

It could be real, it's not impossible that some-one develloped a beta and is now testing it...

But on the other hand, what makes you guys think that this was recorded with a P800?? It could as well been any camera if you ask me (a Nokia x650 for example...)

Yes it could be, Delta.

But the reflection looks pretty real. Just wonder if someone did such a nice job in making a mock up camcorder.

Delta767,

If you look carefully at the reflection of the P800 on the table, you can see that the person is holding a P800 while recording. He/she may be holding a concealed video camera

the reflection in the phones if pretty good, so i guess it is really made with a p800, but it can be all still images that are stiched together manually.

I also doubt if any camcorder or encoding software will produce such a poor quality video (just as what we see from the camera!) 😃

Look at the first T68's reflection and I think the P800 was head on and should be from a hidden camcorder

Guys, have you seen the video that willbrady made?He claimed that he had a preproduction model of a 7650i,it was a great scam, and most of us were hooked,so i really doubt that this is genuine, although a video capture application is not unreal at all.

Analysis: This thing is only at 160 x 120. The recommended frame size for P800 is 192 x 144 right? But I don't think that's relevant for now. Framerate @ 10 so that seems kosher, but with that said there is NO audio. The file size is only 79kb w/out audio for a 10sec video.

Opinion: I'm guessing that this video has to have been fabricated using a video editing tool or its using a foreign codec that we have not implemented in any existing software. Also, could one take a camcorder and simply film what is shown through the P800 viewfinder? If you were to do that it could catch the unit's reflection without seeing any hardware in the background. Moreover, I think the video was probably intended to show off the P800s camera viewfinder feature rather then a recording device. So shooting the viewfinder with a camcoder would have been a perfect way to illustrate that.

Several points

When the reflection can be seen in the P800, you can see the user is holding his device with 2 hands - why?
The P800 reflection also seems to be leaning back away from the desk P800, but the video angle is more head on (though this is tenuous and cannot be verified)
On the right of the P800 on the desk there is a shadow just before the reflection becomes visable - any ideas?
Biggest issue - the video is in 4096 colours. If I am correct, the P800 can capture in 65536 colours but only display in 4096, leading me to believe that what we are seeing is a capture of the view finder, but a clever one nonetheless.

Sheesh! Do any of you guys work in forensic science? If not, I think you might have missed a calling!

But how sure is this pinicketty little b'strd sure of his conclusion? 😃 Anyways, I often take photos with both hands too. 😛 Wus so wrong about it?
Guys come on  don't you see, it's captured with remote p800....
No need to blame us, we are all looking for a dream that could have been coming true 😉

No doubt it could be only the viewfinder of Commuicam, Bigfest made a very professional guess on the issue.

By the way, I cannot see your mp4 on my phone, only on my desktop. I think the quality is way beyond what we saw from the "real" or "fake" video :P .
