I found that after installing the PC Suite on my XP system that I got repeated General Fault errors and a few others as well. Once this happened, I had to shut the system down before my phone was recognized. However, it got to the point that I got an error EVERYTIME I connected my phone. The problem: HP PRINTER SOFTWARE. If I unplug my USB HP Photosmart 7350, then the problems when away and the PC Suite connected to the phone and everything was fine.
