AAC audio

I may be being incredibly thick here, but I am definetley incredibly annoyed as I can't find this answer anywhere, even through trusty Google.

HOW can I convert my music to AAC format?

That is so it ends in .aac? I hear this format offers superior compression to MP3 and WMA, equalling OGG in performance.

Quicktime says that it supports AAC in 6.3, and no doubt it does when encoding a MP4 video, but I cannot for the life of me export to aac. The only option being to encode as a .mp4 with no video and play in the video app rather than the audio app of the P800 (you do get a pic of a speaker tho).

Anyone help? Please don't reply with "use OGG" as I have obviously decided not too otherwise I would not ask. Merci!

Turns out i was being thick as page 29 of the white paper clearly states that the P800 is capable of playing AAC audio encoded as a MP4 file or stream WITHIN the video player. This is obviously why the video screen will display a speaker if the .mp4 file has no video.

Anyway now I can encode all my music using the best (apparently) and industry standard compression and play it on my P800 without installing another app! Just got to remember to put the files in the right place tho....
