When I do upgrade of the firmware, Can I use my previous backup to restore my sttings and data ? in case yes, is it recommended ?
Does the restore bring back the previous firm ware or un necessary files?

Yes you can, that's exactly what I did when I had my firmware upgraded last.
Just one complaint about backup and restore.
It did not restore voice commands and also screwed up my Internet Connections. Else, everything worked fine when I upgrade to R2F.

One thing to be careful of... the reported versions numbers are, in some cases, held in system files which also get restored.
You may find that your displayed version steps backwards after the restore, however we are assured that this is benign.
Generally you should insist that the upgrader does a backup first, this tends to focus them on getting things right first time.

Upgrader Ericsson for free, warns that data will be lost and would not do a backup.
I have upgraded , restored my previous setting, the firm ware version is vorrect, It's fine no problems.

Have the phone upgraded and I've no problem after restore the data. It shows the new version still.
