Anybody knows if there's a software that changes the function of the joystick... I don't want my contacts to be shown when someone presses the joystick... I would like to open the menu instead, and maybe to open the contacts using the button which is used to open the camera by default.....

Psiloc Task Manager will allow you to set shortcuts to the four directional movements of the joystick. It's available from http://www.psiloc.com for �9.95. I don't know of any app that allows you to alter the shortcut assigned to the joystick press.
To change the selection key functions, go to 'Settings', 'Phone', 'Standy Mode' and you can alter the function of the left and right keys from there.
how big a file is task manager when running on the phone? uncompressed because if it was quite small, like under 100,kb, then i'll probably get it
App manager lists its size as 51kb.
