Internet Banking

Has anyone been able to use any form of Internet Banking on the P800?

Obviously, there would be two alternatives: WAP banking and full blown Internet banking. I tried using the existing Internet Banking site of StGeorge Bank (Australia) but the java pages were too complicated and the loaded page was all screwed up (even though it loaded the digital signitures) and I couldn't log in. So I suspect banks will have to explicitly make a WML version for phones?

Any successes? Any thoughts?

Lanatana,

I hear your pain. I am with Westpac/Challenge and have exactly the same problem. Logging in using Opera doesnt work. I get to the login page but when I try to enter there is an error. I would consider using the WAP sight but the cost

I might actually call my bank this week to see if I can get an answer. Will post to let you know. 😊

:x

Same here, tried to login to NatWest online banking via Opera and got an error message.

I guess it's upto the bank to design a WAP online banking site, but somehow I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

Barclays ibank works fine using opera, the secure site symbol was present at the top of the screen so i assume ( gulp! ) that it is safe....

😮

NatWest online banking told me I had an unsupported browser .... then I started laughing and disconnected my GPRS session.

Singapore DBS eBanking via WAP

Any user know how to config. it to work on P800?

I have tried using the setting from my old Nokia 7650 but the setting can not work for P800.

Help.

I did wap banking on the 9210i 100%
On the P800 (R2D) i keep getting an error about not being able to create a secure connection? Any ideas?

Yeah, I use that too and it seems fine, if a bit clumsy to work with -- the page layout assumes you have at least 800 pixels. If Opera did landscape mode it might be easier. :-?

The Barclays WAP service does not work (or at least last time I tried it) because it is only set up for Nokias and barfs at the P800.
Shame, because their WAP site was quite useable.
