master reset problems

Trying to clean up my phone so did a master reset....all stuff and applications gone as expected ...but when checked with file manager theres still loads of folders with bits of previous apps etc still there...any body know how to get rid of these ...( manualy delete or re flash firmware ?) or any other way ...Thanks

When you choose master reset, the phone should ask you whether you want to keep installed software. I suppose that would remove all your applications if your selection is 'no'.

i'v done it both ways ...all apps that i installed are gone from the main list ...its just all the files i have found in file manager

The applications installer/remover only physically removes the executable and attached databases, it makes no attempt to clean up the file system -- someone who knows Symbian can probably explain why but I guess it happens because there is no "uninstall" data to tell it what the application may have created.

I suspect the only way to get rid of these is to manually delete them, either using File Manager or from the PC using the link software.

When I had my P800 flashed with R2F software, I immediately did a back up of the phone while it was still empty. So theoretically, if I do a master reset and then load the Original backup I did of R2F... there should be no orphaned files any longer.... Is that correct to assume?
