Hello,
I've just converted 2 different avi (divx) movies to the phone, and when I try to play them both programs say out of memory error.
Sure, the files are about 50Mb each, but isn't there a way to ensure that the movieplayer doesn't read the ENTIRE clip into RAM?
Cheers!

Jimmy, I think you're full of shit. What kind of reply/response/answer is that? If you don't know the answer, just shut the hell up.[/quote]
JUST SHut your funky.., 😉 ,i answered no,BUT MAYBE.yes.DONT BE agressive man,see ya.
you think by bullshitting your answer(s) people will think that you're knowledgeable? Just shut the hell up if you don't know the answer. If this is the only way that you can get attention, I REALLY feel sorry for you.

At least J-F has the balls to put his name, picture, location on the screen by logging in and creating a profile. At least he is also is trying to be helpful. Can't say anything good about you so I won't continue this line of thinking.....regarding the question, I have had similar problems with both avi files and mpeg files. After converting them to rm files (30mb encoded down to 2mb) my phone says file is too large etc. No one seems to have an answer to this problem in this forum. Frenchie, Starr and some others have given it good tries but still no luck. Keep searching this forum and maybe J2K or Rafe (GhostDog is strangely silent these days) can guide both you and me to some help because it is driving me somewhat crazy that I cannot play several of these video files as my 3650 thinks they are too large.
Having a profile, listing your country/street isn't exactly what i call having balls. Being the FIRST person to jump off his fire truck and running into a burning building to save a stranger is having balls. Speaking of having balls, what do you use as your picture? A stupid cartoon?!? So, I wouldn't talk PETER...if that's your REAL name. Some people lie in thir profile, maybe you're one of them.
As for full of shit jimmy, some of his replies/answers are pure crap. What the hell is "no, but if something, yes maybe"?!? Sounds like he doesn't know shit but trying to PRETEND that he does...obviously, I'm not the ONLY person who thinks so....check the other threads/topics....
Must be at time of month. When you're off the rag fireman you maybe then can contribute something useful to this forum. Until then, leave my cartoon alone. :black:

Yeah, Jimmy has been courageous enough to post his personal information on the forum, but I suggest that if he's unsure of an answer, he just doesn't post it unless he's 99% sure of the right answer, that way he won't get flamed.
Also please guys, try to be civil towards each other.
Regarding the question: For me, when this message appears, the file size of the movie is not the issue. It's because I encoded the movie in a too high setting in RealProducer. I suggest you use either 56k or Single-ISDN 64k to encode the movie. Also, make sure you're encoding in RP8 and not RP9 as the phone (as yet) cannot play RP9 files.
Finally, if you're still encountering problems, why not try converting the file to 3gp? Theoretically this should work as it is the file format endorsed by Nokia.
Cheers
Thanks for stepping in and putting out the fire. Regarding ting settings I still have the same probelm when encoding to rm files even at 56k and 64k ISDN. I have been more successful encoding to 3gp using PVAuthor but I cannot seem to convert many file types to 3gp.
For RM encoding, check the 9210 multimedia for the settings I put down, can't remember where now. My 9210 RM movies and audio work fine on my 3650.
