Seeing as the T610 has over 65k colours compared to the P800's 4096 would this mean that the camera takes better photos and has a better screen?
P800/T610 screen
The cam has nothin to do with the screen 2 different parts but since the p800 cam totaly sucks the other will be most likly better

Probably not, since the T610 has a lower resolution (288x322 I believe, while the P800 has 640x480)
Would it be possible for the P800 to display 16bit color?
I mean the old Spectrums would only dispaly a few colours, but that was a limit of the machine rather than the screen, so in THEORY could the LCD screen display more colors? e.g. if you took it out and connected it to a comp which could display more?
I tried the T610 of a friend and the screen is superb! Didnt try takin gpics though. One thing cool about it though is the T610 came with a small mirror which you stick beside the camera lense. The purpose of this is when you take a picture of yourself or with your gf and you take it by yourself, you can center yourself in the mirror make sure the pic wont be off-center! 😊
Neat!

ah did not know that that does suck but hey still the pics on my p800 suck i say this else u think im a nokia lover hahah wich i hate
p800 pics just sucks if you had the old software but after R2D software the pics quality rised up
So the T610 is good then. I had a p800 but took it back because there wer faults and features that didnt match my expectations. Im a nokia lover but im trying to slip away from nokia because I find the most basic thing (talk time) lacks.Thats why I want a Sony Ericsson. The T610 may not play video but sure as hell has a good screen. I know it has a night mode aswell as a flash for it.
Just one thing Adam,if you are looking for just a fancy mobile phone get the T610 because the T610 is just that,a mobile phone.
The p800 is a smartphone and PDA combo,a good one too.The T610 has the same OS as the T68i,which was a disaster and is very limited on the third party software option, what can you find for it,couple of java apps? There are plenty of C++,java or even App Forge apps already available for the p800.
BTW: I don't think you can play Doom,Zelda on GoBoy or Sonic on the T610 😉
Do you think the P800 is going to get any better? I had it and didnt think it was all that.Theres alot of things that should be better, camera, screen, video recording, and functionality. I found it cumbersum, I would go back to it if it did live up to my expectations. What can be done about the screen? Not alot by the looks.I think it is the best smartphone out but could be better and if it was I would of kept it.

It seems the Siemens SX1 is more for you. But who knows when that will be released... :fadein:
The Siemens SX1 is expected August. The write up here says: This is a remarkable gaming and multimedia featured handset. Play MP3 music files, videos, listen to the built-in radio or take photos with the integrated camera. The large colour screen is the big plus for game therapy. An instant win-win!
sounds nice doesnt it ha. Looking at it its looks different to say the least. I bet the battery isnt great like Sony Erissons though.

In comparrison to what?? The P800 or the average Samsung phone (which IMO has one of the best, most vibrant, screens)

Compared to the Samsung "Matrix" V200 😊
neonodes colours .. is just amazing..more than 200,000...colours..3 times better than t610's screen. 😃
You really cant compare a P800 to a phone - its basically a mini computer so apps can be written for it in a unlimited way.
I remeber the start of win ce no apps and then slowly some quality software came out over time.... The 7650 was the same look at what it can do compared to a P800 much more software out but it was crippled with no memory expansion.
saying that pocket pc's games are still crud.
Re the camera buy a decent digital camera if you want good pictures - actually I just got an email from ebuyer a 3 mega pixel for under 100 quid.. looks naff though
If you want a phone get a phone or youll end up using 10% of the P800
Well I read on clubsonyericsson.com that a new SE phone will be coming out (Z200), that has both 65K TFT screen and a 640x480 camera. So pictures will probably look better on this phone...
It also said that the successor of the P800 might have a 2 Megapixel camera 😮
i've done the R2F firmware update and i must say that it GREATLY improves the picture quality taken by the camera. it's worth a trip to the service centre just to get update if you havent already done it. night mode works fairly well, too, but u have to make sure u don't move your hand cos i think the shutter opens for longer periods in night mode.
i had a friend who just bought the T610 and while the screen has more colours, the camera quality is nowhere near the P800 with R2F.
just my 2 cents.
el
i have got a samsung V200C, screen wise, T610 cannot compared with Samsung.. I used the T610 for two weeks then I sold it. OS was too slow and the screen sucked. using the P800 now as it got the PDA. However waiting for the samsung pda to come out hopefully in a few months - that would be an awesome toy!!!!!

What samsung PDA?
Samsung SGH-i500(Palm OS 5.2). Looks nice, but too small screen for me..
Looks nice but my opinion is that its just another SmartPhone, like the SGH-D700,not in p800's class.
It would be interesting to see a Palm powered smartphone though 😊
