Hello all:
I'm almost done with my cronometer, it's now in the test fase for the "stable" version :P .You can download it or install via OTA at http://xptm.com.sapo.pt/xjCrono/xjCrono.html .
I'll like very much if you guys could test it. These are the new features:
- corrected a bug with the time counting, it's now accurate (as far as i can test)
- "one-hand" operation, the FIRE, DOWN and UP buttons (Jog-Dial Enter, Down and Up) now work as "Start/Stop", "Mark" and "Reset"
- larger on-screen "Start/Stop" "Mark" and "Reset" buttons so you can use your finger to press then
- historic of "Mark" times
- and a background in a beautiful SE P800 light blue :P
It's now prepared to work in hundredths and thousandth(!) of a second, and it keeps the "Marks" history for future exporting (it appears only 8 Marks on screen but all are kept internally).
So PLEASE test it if you can and PLEASE send me some feedback and/or sugestions
Looks nice!!! I'll do some testing for you... Installing it right now 😊
No one else here? I really could use some feedback...
Sorry, not to sound totally ignorant but what does a cronometer do? Would be able to provide some information on this?
Thanks

A chronometer (cronmetro in Portuguese) counts time, i think in english is also called a stopwatch. In this case, it counts time by amounts of tenths of a second, has three buttons, "Start/Stop", "Mark" to mark a time while the crono continues to run and "Reset".
Well, if you have a P800 or another J2ME MIDP 1.0, you better try it and see...
ahhh thanks xptm, when I get home I will download and install it and let you know
how to install it??? :-?
You can install it two ways. Via OTA or by downlading it to you computer and then install it with the "Install Software" that comes with the SE software. Via OTA (Over The Air) you install it by going to the download site from your phone browser and downloading it. It installs automatically.
The site it's http://xptm.com.sapo.pt/xptMIDlets/xptMIDlets.html (you can try the xjColors, too) and click on the JAD or JAR links. I had problems instaling the JAD files, if it happens to you install the JAR file directly, it works OK.
downloaded it.
it indeed looks very nice!!!
Very good work, I'll keep testin it!!
Greetings frm Poland
After all the feedback i've got, and all the work to read all the suggestions (yes, all the three!) I've created one more test version of xjCrono, v0.92.
These one behaves differently in the "one-hand" operation mode. Thus, now the Jog-Dial works like this:
UP / DOWN -> circulates the three butons (Start Stop, Mark and Reset)
FIRE -> performs the command associated to the button selected
All the other suggestions that i've got from the whole worl, or "the other one", I decided to postpone it until the version 2.0. For those that do not remember it, is put a time limit / alarm in the chrono.
This version is in the new page, at http://xptm.com.sapo.pt/xptMIDlets/xptMIDlets.html
Also do not forgot to test xjColors. And also do not forget to send me your comments. Fear not of fullfilling my mailbox, I already aloted more space...
Thanks all for your sacrifice...
(PS - this is based on a auto-translation from Portuguese, so excuse the bad english)
Nothing realy... It just for choosing the colors available in the phone, changing the Red Green and Blue colors, and it gives the color codes in decimal and hexadecimal.
I use it as a color chooser for other applications...
But I got some blinking errors 😞
Just tested your chrono.
works just fine.
I have a couple of suggestions, although I am not in deperate need of these features:
1. Choose bigger numbers for the current time (leave marks as they are)
2. use colours for buttons, e.g. green=start, yelow=mark, red= stop
3. Display time of the normal clock in one corner. Might be interesting for events of somewhat longer duration, say one ore two hours.
4. How about a memory for 1-4 persons, maybe also for saving up to 5 results per person. For example stopping a running event with 3 three people.
5. If your stopwatch works with thousands of a second, I would suggest to throw out the results with this accuracy.
