OK soooo all these phones out there and all this software but no one has this problem? I am worried!
Here is the lowdown: 😮
I use Outlook 2002 and within outlook I have separate folders for all of my contacts.
Sometimes they are in different .pst files sometimes not.
So I might have a folder named "project 123" and another "project ABC".
When I want to call someone, I look for that contact by project - General contractor for project 123... or the general contractor for project ABC....
This has many advantages when I want to back up a project or close it or email it or whatever.
This is all great EXCEPT when I sync to my new 3650.
I have mapped the contact folders using Nokia PC Suite but that means that all the contacts are in ONE BIG LIST!!!
With 30 Entries for general contractor one can see where this might be a problem! It also makes reverse sync-ing a problem because it simply puts all the contacts in the same folder in outlook. No good there!
I called Nokia and they told me that there is no way to map the "group" feature of the contacts to an outlook field. But this would still present a problem because they are all still in the "master list" and it makes searching a chore.
I want to be able to import my contacts to the phone in seperate folders.
This could be a separate viewer or application on the phone, but I can't find one.
Calling all developers please help me!
This is a desperate tool for the business users of this phone!
