Finally debut, see pictures below:

What an ugly duck. Looks very much like Siemens SX1. The front is an inflated 6610.... OMG, it's even uglier at the back!! The big circle around the lens is like screaming 'hey look, I got a VGA camera!' :robot:
Before getting the P800 my previous 2 phones were Nokias, the 7210 and the 8310. These 2 were pretty good phones, but I feel that Nokia has dropped the ball. Too many Nokia phone models have been released without significant improvement on the previous model. The Nokia 6600 seems to be following this trend, it is an ugly phone however the features do look to be pretty good.
I wonder how the market will react to it, especially coming out so long after the P800. That is, if it is to be a competitor.
Hey, I don't think its that bad, symbian os 7 and all, I think its much better than the 3650 personally, sure there isn't much improvements but at least there are a variety of choices with Nokia, as compared to Sony Ericsson. Of cuz, this is my personal opinion.
But I'll stick with P800 until a similar phone comes out, it suits my needs. 😊 Nokia does not, including 3650. 😉
I think that's a weird choice by Nokia. I thought they were going for Series 60 (Symbian OS 6), now they suddenly switch to Symbian OS 7... They must have realised OS 7 is better 😃
Anyway, it still looks like Series 60... How is that possible?
Ugly? Well, comparing to SE P800...
Digital camera with zoom
Video recorder & player
65,536-color TFT display
Java MIDP 2.0
Well Delta737,Series 60 is just an UI,like UIQ,theoretically, its not OS dependant, and the OS used in 7650/3650 is Symbian 6.1,the Communicator runs on 6.0.
From the looks of it,the 6600 is Series 60,although it might be running the new(2.0) version of Series 60.So don't get confused UI's with OS's.
I think that the version of Symbian 7.0(Insert a letter here)used on the p800 was specific for touch screen devices.Maybe that was the reason why the x650 devices from Nokia are running in Symbian 6.1.
6600 runs on a version of Symbian 7.0 which is newer then the one that the p800 uses,I think its Symbian 7.0s or something. Some of that facts here might be wrong.
-Edit-
Personally,i like the way it looks,a lot better then the 3650 anyway, but once again, that is a matter of taste.
😮ops:
Nokia has completely lost the plot!! I thought the 6600 would be REAL competition for the P800 - unfortunately it's not. And the pansy 6MB memory didn't get me excited, either....
Two of my work colleagues have already ordered the SE T610, just to get away from Nokia!
Thanks for the explanation GhostDog 😃

BTW: The 6600 is not aimed as a p800 competition.
Roumors say that Nokia are preparing 2 or 3 Communicator+touch screen class devices. Those are the ones i'm looking forward too.
And i'm not going to repeat my self on the t610 issue 😉
Any time Delta737 😃
