A Senior's view of P800 & Questions

P800 Symbian OS has me going back to the days of Windows 95. Now, this is a compliment for a handset. This holds great hopes for smart applications in a near future.
One of my current favorites is using the P800 as a flashlight in the dark, no joke !
As a senior, I'm not concerned by music, games applications but rather by the pursuit of knowledge.
Quickly noticed the built in browser slowness, ended up then with ReqWireless WebViewer trial version which is like a Ferrari in comparison,
never managed to download Opera on my notebook ( Internet Explorer makes sure it freezes solid my desktop whenever I want to do that, same with my AOL browser ....... ).
However, I never succeeded with ReqWireless to open up Java pages which one encounters on stock charts, it says " Enable Java Script " !
Wish I could ! No help from SE support in France, they don't really know...
No mention of it in the 1/3 inch thick handbook either...
Miraculously, the built in browser does trigger Java charts as long as you press with the "Moka spoon" on the pseudo shortcut-like icon in the java area until a blue circle unfolds. How is one supposed to know that ?
Opening up Hotmail remains hopeless with both browsers, any solution ?
Entering one's Username + password on websites never works : ???
Full Screen for snapshots and videos : suggestions ?
180 Tilting of Screen : ???
Zoom in & out of snapshots, of Web pages : ???
Flip-style Full Screen when surfing on the web as in Windows : any idea ?

Those functions are really basic for seniors.

x 5 Stars for the Notepad that allows direct hand drawing with color assist.

Voila ! folks, Ciao from the French Riviera ! :bday:

:agrue: phew, u put a title as senior view, u dun even know how to get ur computer fixed for the opera download...gosh....

pls...u have a pda phone, not a laptop....definitely there is some different in capabilities....

😉

I really meant that Microsoft has probably bugged my computer through
Internet Explorer to prevent me ( or others ? ) from actually ever reaching Opera.com's web page.
It's the only URL amongst thousands others that will trigger this desktop freeze.
Confirmation of my suspicion comes from the fact that if I type in this URL
into Google search engine in an attempt to bypass whatever virus logic, it'll freeze up everything on the screen and in the mouse controls.

I can't even use my iMac to download Opera for lack of compatibility with
the P800 ....

Any suggestions on bettering the P800 screen and Java activation ?

Thanks for your reply anyway, Ciao ! :bday:

Perhaps you can download Opera for P800 from here (that way you'll bypass the Opera website 😃 :

And hey, we all just have to settle with the screen...
