[Update] OPL Open Source Language Translator

4 replies · 4,609 views · Started 17 June 2003

A new version of the OPL translator is released. It's available in the OPL for Nokia 9200 Communicator user package as well as the developer package. This is a milestone for the opl-dev project: it's the first time a non-Symbian developer has contributed changes to the OPL language source code!

Just a word of caution. I got an error installing the latest version on my 9210. This happened when removing the old version I pressed skip a couple of times then the install failed. I then ran the install again and it went in with no problems.

I've logged this as a bug on SourceForge.

Also I can't seem to find any release notes?

Thanks for posting the bug report on SourceForge - I've posted a response there asking for more info, but wanted to add a quick note here too.

I can't reproduce this - perhaps you had a very old version of OPL installed? There was an issue with the EON14.GDR font file not getting uninstalled correctly.

I'll wait for your response on SF.net.

Cheers,
Rick (opl-dev project admin)

Hi Rick. When I tried to unzip, I got the message "Cannot open file; it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again". Is there any remedy?

I've had no problem with zip files - I suggest you try downloading again. Perhaps you could switch mirrors if the problem persists?
