Becuase it has totally buggered up my desktop and my laptop after installing it and rebooting :x after logging back into windows it just freezes completely. even loggin into safe mode and trying to remove the software it just freezes up the installshield.
am installing the 1.3 suite now to see if that does the same ... i hope it doesnt otherwise i am totally at a loss as to what to do 😞
any ideas, known issues etc... much appriciated.

I have XP and 1.5.1 with no prob. If i were you i'll download the 1.5.1 again and reinstall it.
What's the different version? Any changes to it????
I have the same problem initially too as well.....until i gave up totally and manually key into my P800. After a couple of weeks i was trying my luck again, viola!....it worked! From wat i guess is that WindowsXP Professional(which iam using) downloads updates from Microsoft from time to time after scanning yr desktop for the relevant updates fix needed and thus solved the bugs with P800 destop. Also, instead of using the CD Rom that comes with the phone, i downloaded it from SE websites. So try to uninstall P800 desktop totally and wait for a week or two and re-install in again. Check if your windowsXP updates itself everynow and then. Hope that will work for you! Cheers!
Yeah. I have XP with Service Pack 1. P800 Desktop Version 1.5.1 is perfectly okey with my PC.
Please upgrade your XP with service pack 1 and try again.
I also have XP service pack 1 and 1.5.1 + Outlook 2002. they all run smoothly...
except for the fact that outlook will not synchronize all the telephones from the contacts i.e. when there are more than 2 numbers assigned as work or mobile it will only write those to and the other ones are... off to the moon 😞 😃
ok, well , bizarre... i am running xp with sp1 installed on both laptop and desktop, so it must be some conflict with some software installed on both machines (norton AV corp, officeXP and a couple of other non descript programs)

i have a smoothwall firewall/router box not software and the laptop isnt always on the network anyhow, what difference does that make?
Maybe it was not your case, but i'm using ZoneAlarm and it is so. In the SE software readme it states:
Some software firewalls (like ZoneAlarm and McAfee Firewall) might
warn you that the PC Suite for P800 is connecting to the Internet.
You must allow this otherwise the PC Suite for P800 will not work.
The PC Suite for P800 is in fact not connecting to the Internet,
it is only communicating with your phone. You might get one or more
alerts depending on your firewall, you must allow the connection on
all these requests.
When using the PC Suite for P800 the following applications must be
allowed to access the network:
mRouterRuntime MFC Application (mRouterRuntime.exe)
Phone Connection Monitor Application (audevicemgr.exe)
SCRFS Module (SCRFS.exe)
DXP SyncML Module (DXP SyncML.exe)
BroadCast Proxy Module (BroadcastProxy.exe)
CapMan Module (CapMan.exe)
ArchiveManager Module (ArchiveManagerServer.exe)
I haven't come across any problem for firewalls, my home PC has McAfee firewall, my Office PC passes through Checkpoint, and my notebook through Netscreen while on the road. All three machines have PCsuite and sync with my P800. Haven't even seen a message regarding firewall when installing those 3 different PC suite 😮
However, I did have problems first time installing PC suite from the original CD, freezing and not able to connect ... Everything got through when download from SE Global Support.
Did you upgrade your PC suite or did you make an install on a freshly installed XP?
I had similar difficulties when upgrading the suite, however it worked (3 times on 2 different laptops) everytime I made a clean install of XP and PC suite.
(But having to format your drive just to upgrade to a later version seems a bit over the top :-? Norton Ghost comes in really handy here....).
Conclusion: Strangely enough, it seems to me that upgrading has a tendency to cause problems. Any experienced the same?

mine was a fresh install from scrach on both machines.. 1.5.1
i *think* it may be something to do with dvd2ogm thats installed, might be some sort of nasty conflict, as i installed it again last nite while 1.5.1 was on and it died again... thank god for windows XP system restore points!

I use same XP and 1.5.1. When I have two windows open (one with the P800 showing me any file) and one with a destination folder, I cannot copy the file from p800 to the dest. folder. Drag and drop (copy) within the p800 window works. Somebody see the same prob. ?
And. Is it possible to get a thumbnail pic in the p800 folder. Its not very comfortable to to copy first and then identify to copy the wrong.
i have problems, (with xp and 1.5.1) my computer detects that com port 7 is connected when i put the phone on the usb hub, but then the phone itself doesn't make the computer laod that wizard thing to get it detected,nothing happens :'( but it's detected
I loaded version 1.5.1 onto two machines. My home computer running Zone alarm, etc has not problem at all. The office machine is a laptop connect through the corporate network and I have all sorts of problems. The main one is "Fatal Exception" and "mrouter runtime error". I have given up using the USB connection, thinking that it may be conflict of hardware of ports, etc. and tried IR. As soon as I connect the phone to the laptop the "fatal exception" message comes up. Any one got any clue?

i have the same version but has no problems. try to update IE if you have errors.
I loaded 1.5.1 onto my system (XP PRO) and now the phone will not sync it is detected by the phone link on com3 (usb) but not in my P800 or though any of the other programs HELP PLEASE
