Looking for a P800 bug...(none)

I've been reading the postings on the bugs for the P800 and would like to contact SE with one to get them to admit to a firmware upgrade that fixes it. 😃

Problem is, I haven't seen any bugs on the P800 posted that are
1) caused by normal use
2) repeatable
3) issues with the OS and not a 3rd party app
4) not memory related (too many apps running)

Are there any bugs that meet this criteria? Or are the firmware updates merely enhancements to the phone?

So far i havent seen any bugs that were caused by the P800 itself (a good thing i might add). All the upgrades so far have been enhancments in one way another. There were problems with a few of the cameras on early editions, but recent software upgrades have resolved all of these. I personnally think it to be good that SE are happy to roll out free software enhancments.

SE forever

Last fone was 7650 (how wrong was i?)

It appears that there are no repeatable bugs in the P800 phone. There are some irritating nuances in the phone's camera application, applications crashing every once in a while, memory leaks, battery drains and even the Blue Screen of Death (the one that wants you to hold the power button for 10 seconds but must be using a different standard of time as to what 10 seconds means). There are also some bad API's written for the phone and poorly written software that synchronizes the phone.

But none of the problems that I've seen and none of the problems I've seen documented are bugs which are repeatable and caused by the firmware in the phone from normal use. I don't necessarily think this is cause for celebration of SE though. I think this pays tribute to the Symbian OS which SE chose to use.

As for my firmware upgrade, I'm getting my phone replaced due to some apparent transmission issues. When talking, I hear the person perfectly well but they hear static and interruptions in my voice. Signal level remains adequate. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

SE has assured me that the replacement phone will have the latest firmware on it. I'm not overly confident that this will happen but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

My SE centre have told me that R2F is the upgrade that will fix the voice problem you have !

Hey Cranium,

I have had my phone for over 2mths now and only once have I have the yellow triangle of death that crashed my phone. Apart from that I have not come across any bugs in the phones hardware or OS. There are of course little things that I would change to make the phone even better but apart from that I am very very happy. :P

If that is the case then SE in the USA has no clue about this. They are replacing my phone with a new one rather than fixing the problem with the existing phone. Just as well though because I had broken a tab on my keypad. 😃

My phone will go to yellow triangle if I try replying to an SMS if the SMS arrived prior to my email poll, and I reply after that email poll.

Only seems to affect the last message before the poll, and only happens if this is the first SMS I am sending after the poll.

The type of poll is irrelevant, as I use GPRS in the UK and GSM in Latvia, but it does seem consistent.

The phone will die about 100 characters into the SMS as I write it using the stylus.

Does not happen with a new message, nor with messages received prior to this one or after the poll.

Any use to you?

I will have to give this a shot to see if I can reproduce this problem.

Has anyone else been able to reproduce this?

Thanks.
