Had a quick look through FAQ but didn't see anything about T9 predictive text.
Will the P800 get T9 (and profiles)? Am thinking of getting one when contract expires end of Sep this year.
I like the profiles I use on Nokia phone but am thinking it is time to leave the Nokia nest!
Will the P800 get T9 and profiles...?
Well... welcome to le club!
Word goes that AOL is working on T9 for the P800. Didn't hear anything about profiles
I think the word is that AOL is developing T9 for Symbian OS.I haven't heard being developed specificaly for the p800.
In any case, T9 is something the P800 should have had from the beginning. I am generally very happy with my P800 but think the lack of T9 is a serious and unnecessary minus. This is also reflected in various magazines' reviews of the P800. I hope the SE people will correct this soon!
profiles should be added too. the vibrating feature doesn't give that much help. :agrue:

NONE. No need.
i hope SE will add this feature
Maybe Im just strange but I hate T9... drives me nuts. I am actually surprised that so many people use it and want it for the P800. On all my previous Nokia phones I turned this feature off.
Profiles on the other hand are pretty cool, but nothing I used extensively with my previous phones. I can do without both these features.
Maybe I am just a lunatic 😉
I can live without it too, but I find it strange that a 3'rd party developer hasn't looked into this yet.. I actually thought that predictive text, profiles and office apps would be some of the first things to get written for the P800..
It really puzzles me when none of the big Symbian development companies seem to notice some of the most wanted apps.. 😮
I mean, the first company/individual to develop an app similar to T9 would probably collect big time.. 😉 The demand for this seems to be huge..
Although thinking more about T9, we are talking about Flip-Closed support, which aren't documented at all in SDK.. So that might be a reason, and perhaps many developers are thinking that this means that writing an app to work in FC mode isn't possible at all.. -But it is in fact possible, OggPlay works well in FC.
But IMO a "word complete" type app, something like this, for the virtual QWERTY keyboard would be even more useful for speeding up the text entering process.

psiloc are working on a profiles app for the p800.
it was supposed to be out by now ...
