My experience of Bluetooth on my 7650 proved that it uses quite a lot of battery power, despite the alledged power saving features of the Bluetooth standard.
Therefore I tend to keep Bluetooth turned off on my P800 and only enable it when I use it. The trouble with this is the amount of time it takes to go to applications > control panel > connections > bluetooth > on.
Is there a quicker way?

If you have handy day or tracker there is 😊
Get Tracker. You won't regret it.
I have bluetooth on all the time for my heatset, and the battery lasts ages. :P
I also leave it "on" and have no probs with bat. Make sure to enable energy saving. Dont put it on discoverable mode, just the "on" mode.
if flip is on & closed push & hold the wheel towards u & the appIications menu wll come up, press 0 ulI get in the connections menu, scroll down once to bluetooth & ur in
I have BT on all the time, in discoverable mode and can't complain about my battery life at all - 2/3 days with medium/heavy use.
yo, the dude above said don't put it on discoverable, but always o, how does this save more power? if it's on discoverable, it will search once every so often, but if it's always on, it's permenantly searching right?

Nope, "discoverable" means it's broadcasting it's identity ready for another BT device to find it - this uses more power. On all the time just means that a pre-paired device is able to exchange data with it - this only uses full power whilst the transfer is taking place. If there isn't another BT device using it, the power consumption is lower.
Of course, if you're away from any charging device for a long time, and won't be using BT, it makes sense to switch BT off to save a little power.
*switches off discoverable*
