Whenever I put the virtual flip up, backlight goes out after 10 seconds and not matter what button I press or scroll, lights donht come back on 😞 But when I open the virtual flip(back to pda mode) lights go back out 😞
Ligts are set on auto. If they are set on always on this doesnt happen, there is just a dimming effect but when I move something lights brighten up right away.

Yup, I noted that too since I upgraded firmware to R2D and also installed unrealplayer...so I am not sure if it is firmware upgrade or the player..don't wanna uninstall player...however, it doesn't happen all the time.
Had this once, turned the phone off and on again, and the problem was gone...
P.S. I also have R2D and UnrealPlayer installed...

Had this problem too and like others here with upgraded firmware and Unrealplayer.
To make it work, I turned off the power but when I turned it back on, light was completely gone! I went to settings and now light was set to off even though it was set to on before turning the power off! So far, I have had to turn off the power to resolve this approx. 5-7 times - each time I have to go and set light from off to on.
I haven't really been looking for the source of the problem but it seems to happen whenever I have unanswered calls and unread messages at the same time. First I am asked if I want to view my new message and even while answering yes, I am prompted to answer if I want to view unanswered calls and I have no other way to view the new message than by viewing the unanswered call and then go to the main message app!!
Anyone?
Surprisingly, I restarted my phone and it was ok again.. very weird...
I just installed unreal player and had the same problem, but i dont have upgraded firmware :-?
There is a new version of unreal player which mite solve our problems 😊 its 1.2.1 😊
Installed last night - still testing - so far no signs of "lights out"..
it was 1.2.1 that i installed and got the lights out problems!

Yeah, its gone and the lights are good and proper, will go for unreal again when thats sorted 😃
