inbound calls display number and not name

When I receive calls on my 3650 (on Vodafone) I see the number of the calling party, but not the name. Originally I thought this was because all my numbers are stored in International format (i.e. they start with +countrycode>😉,but even where this is not the case, I still don't see the name.
I have double checked that the numbers are correct, and it all worked on my previous 'phone (T68) from which i copied the contacts.

Any ideas? I can see nothing in the user guide.

Guff

Sometimes a problem occurs when you have more than one number identical in you phone book/contacts list.

i.e. Joe Blogs = 5551234
Jane Blogs = 5551234

In this case it may only show the number rather than the name.

This could also be the case if you have the numbers on the sim card and phone memory and use both memories.

It could be something else, but I think this is one possibility you should consider!

I had a similar problem (only on a few numbers). I also have the international number settings (+ plus country code then number). That is not the problem. It is like Gadget said, when you have a duplicated number (jane or Joe Bloggs). Try making one of each of the pairs (i.e Jan or Joe) a default number and you should have no more problems.
