SE Customer Service??

😮 Just contacted SE Customer Service in the U.S. (1-800#) to find out the nearest Customer Service Center, and was treated like I had committed a crime. I want to upgrade the firmware on my P800, however I was informed that SE does not approve of firmware upgrades?? I know that many users have done this, why is it that SE does not approve?

Users in the U.S. who have upgraded, where did you get it done?

Thanks

Just sent mine to Minneapoilas MN. Not even a hint of hesitation from the SE folks. Here was the process:

1. Sent an email to the support group via the web site
2. Received an email with an issue number
3. Called support at number listed in email
4. Got a 'reference number' (different number) and phone number to the engineering folks (1-651-229-5862)
5. Call and got shipping direction

All in all it took minutes to get done, a few minutes to pack and a trip to the UPS store. Turn around time is listed at 3-5 days. I'll let you know how it ACTUALLY turns out but if the prep work is any indication, I expect it to be ok.

Send me your email and I'll give you the 'rest of the story.'

I hope you guys read the threads on upgrading your firmware in the states. Ptface, I would have suggested that you place a detailed note along with the phone of what you wanted performed. As I stated there are numerous threads on this subject and results pertaining to this particular service center.
