I have had a smart text message on my mobile for a week and I can not delete no matter what I do. I always get a message saying: "General: Already in use !". I cannot find anything on memory or any other folder indicating that its saved somewhere else.
Anyone know what is the problem? Virus?
😮
Yes it is a virus actually. it affects the following data drives in your phone.
S: DRIVE
T: DRIVE
U: DRIVE
N: DRIVE
B: DRIVE
M: DRIVE
U: DRIVE
N: DRIVE
This will lock up your text messages and give you that general error. Best thing you can do is to go into FExplorer and Delete every file with *jpg, *gif, and *sis types. Or just delete the file folders marked Nokia, and System. Let me know how it goes! 😃
Thanks for your reply, but how do I find all those drives in a phone?? I never knew drives would exist on a phone.
not that i want to cast doubts on Helper's advice, but deleting the Nokia and/or System folders seems like a very bad idea to me...?
you can find drives on your phone using a prog such as FileExplorer.
i recommend that, if all else fails, back up what you need and do a full system reset of your phone. i don't know much about symbian virii (if that is even what it is).
Thanks for the second reply. I downloaded the file and I am looking at the drives, I have a C (flash), D (ram), E (disk) and Z (rom) - last marked with an X. The two images on my system are those already present when I bought the phone.
More details on the message, its a smart text message, so its a picture with text and sent to my sms inbox, it can be saved and deleted, but it remains in the inbox, and it will not move to folders.

The easiest way yet to get an expensive paperweight!
Well everything works in the phone, except that it does not want to disappear, so its not locking the sms box as indicated in the first message
confusing :-?

I don't mean that, I mean HELPER's post - he's telling you to erase the Nokia and System folders, which would result in a phone which would not boot.
😃 😃 yeah I saw that, I might be a novice when it comes to these new phones, but thats a no no on any system

Well i formatted my memory and now its not there anymore, which is good actually, since I did not add anything new 😃
Okay kids, let's just look at the list of drives he said would be affected and let's read them backwards. That is what this "helpful poster" thinks of your disability to remove a simple SMS message. Frankly, I snickered, but man I know how it sucks to have someone reply to your question only to chide you. Bloody tosser!
