Speaker volume with lid closed

I am unable to adjust the volume of the speaker so I can actually hear something. The volume is maximum, but the volume is still too low :-? .

Anyone had this problem before? All possible answers are welcome.

thankx

Yeah, it's a fault of the physical design of the 9200 that the speaker is covered when the lid is closed and WAV ringtones sound especially quiet and insipid.

actually if u close the lid down enough to dim the screen but u still leave a place for the speaker u'll notice that the sound fades so the spakers are linked to the screen and there seems to be a few slots for the sound to exit when the lid is closed so i dont think this is a physical problem but a prob in the software of the system

I am happy to find that I am not the only one with this problem.

What do you do to resolve it?

I mean, talking through the intercom is not a very private way of talking. 😞

well maybe a patch or smthng will do the trick
but in order to do this patch sm 1 will have to hack the 9210 completely i mean os flash rom ...etc
in order to find the place where what we consider the "bug" of the speakers really is

I found a work-around that seems to help "most" WAV file volume problems.

Granted, inherently WAV files have more mid/low-level tones than standard ringtones, but if you use a freeware called Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net

Then you can copy the WAV file from your 9200 to PC, then load the WAV into this app, run the "Amplify" option, and it will increase the volume of the WAV file beyond what the 9200 can normally do. Works decently well.

there is an amplify option but it does not operate i.e. i cannot highlight to open it please advise.
