p800 broken screen insurance question...

ok, i had my beloved p800 in my back pocket and when i took it out the screen was cracked and now the touch screen doesn't work.

i have an insurance with phones 4u but i am wondering is it going to be covered ok? any one with any experience?

i had that insurance with them, 7 quid for a minimum of 6 months but i never made a claim (which costs 50)

if they don't support the screen breaking, dunk it down your toilet and claim it on water damage, if that's not covered, then call your network to have the phones imei code barred on all other networks too, and claim on the case that you've lost your phone.

this isn't insurance fraud...it is simply using service that your paying for

ok i found out they will repair but it will cost 100 which is a set fee, how much do sony ericsson charge for a screen repair, any ideas?

phones4u's insurance is expensive. But, I am sure it covers accidental damage. However, I have friends that had bad experience with them though. That 100 to repair it is really a joke, cost 1/5 of the price of phone. Good luck!

The screen itself may be one of the most expensive parts of the phone. It costs more than 100 Euros for service centers in the US just to order that part. 100 Euros is quite a good deal.

Sony Ericsson USA charges about $200 for the screen repair.

I managed to accidentally drop my P800 at the weekend: result, screen broken.

I had bought the phone direct from a Vodafone shop (in the UK) and with 7 per month insurance, the phone is off for a week's fix-or-replace. There's a 25 excess to pay.

I dropped my p800 on the tarmac after a big night out. It only had a few dents at the back and side, but then I discovered the handsfree doesn't work properly (maybe from the 'drop'😉 and Vodafone gave me a brand new one, without a
