Hi Guys!

Doris Browser has been updated to version 1.18! Doris Browser - Anygraaf's (http://www.anygraaf.fi/indexe.htm) mini web browser for all Symbian Series 60 devices has been updated. This version addresses all bugs reported so far, and implements new features. Doris Browser goes beyond the capabilities of the built in XHTML browsers found in the most Symbian Series 60 phones. It is both faster and more compatible with ordinary web pages.

Some important changes:

Implemented: support for downloading/running other than html content; clicking an URL pointing to a ".sis" file (or any other non-html content) opens the document in the application handling the associated MIME type
Implemented: http proxy server support
Implemented: support for gzip compression of web pages
Implemented: "basic" authentication. Prompts for user name/password, also supports bookmarks: http://username😛[email protected]/page.html"
Implemented: automatic and manual character set support
Implemented: open URL command (open web page directly)
Implemented: persistent cookies
Implemented: delete cookies command
Implemented: menu command to enable/disable colors and background images
Implemented: support for localhost addresses (localhost, 127.0.0.1)
Implemented: some more ways to recover from bugs and non-standard code in HTML pages
Improved: table support
Improved: image map support
Improved: 16-bit character set support (especially Chinese character sets)
Fixed: a bug in unicode character conversion
Fixed: a crash when access point name was more than 25 characters
Fixed: a bug in parsing URL's containing both '@' and ':' characters. [bug present in v1.15-v1.17]
Fixed: a bug in unicode character conversion. [bug present in v1.17]

the previous versions of doris browser didn't work for me...(i'm on globe telecom here in the Philippines) i hope this one will work.

could any users out there give feedback on the "basic Authentification" mentioned? Does it stretch to https?

I use webviewer, and when I try to access a https address, I get a message that the phone does not support this protocol.
