Best quality audio format?

Hi,

Nokia 3650 default seems to be:
8Khz mono 16 bit AMR Narrowband

Can the Nokia 3650 play files with higher than 8Khz sample rate?

Will higher rates yield better quality playback, or just be dithered lower?

44.1Khz? 48Khz?
