1. Does the P800 need to be in BT "Discoverable" mode for this app to work?
I refer the honourable gentleman to my last reply (yes)

2. What is the danger of running in "Discoverable" mode all the time as opposed to running in "On" mode?
I dont think there is any particular danger to running in discoverable mode. You probably get a little less standby time than running in "on" mode, and a lot less standby time than running in "off" mode. The 7650/3650 run in discoverable mode all of the time when bluetooth is on. I guess you might be susceptible to bluejacking. I've always left BT as discoverable and have never had any problems.
Anyone else have any comments?

Hi,
Is the source code available for this app? I am only wondering how to specify the client application which of many wireless devices to try to connect to.
Best regards,

I have read about this little program that you have made to connect the P800 automatically with the PC as soon as the telephone is within the range of the bluetooth connection (and that the bluetooth feature is activated on the mobile) and it sound like something I would like to install.
I am using 3Com Wireless Bluetooth PC Card 3CRWB6096 with and 3Com Bluetooth Connection Manager and this software is very inadequate and 3Com has not updated their drivers since 2002 (I have downloaded the latest drivers from their homepage) and I am wondering if you know if my PC card is compatible with the program you are mentioning; Widcomm bluetooth drivers? I also do not have any program that is called My Bluetooth places.
I am able to establish a serial connection between my PC and my P800 and have also accessed the internet through my ADSL connection. The problem is that to activate this connection it takes quite a bit fiddling to get the connection going and if you loos the connection between the PC and the mobile you are back at square one and has to go through all the setups again. Very annoying. After turning on the computer I have to go to device manager and actually de-activate the Bluetooth card and re-activate it before the PC suite will let me tick of the two COM ports that is needed. As I said earlier, this is very cumbersome.
I hoped that you would be able to help me to connect my mobile effortlessly to my PC through bluetooth.
I use a 3COM BT b4, i know ur feeling ... 😞
now I switched to a widcomm based clone 😃
