the passkey is anything that u want it to be unless u have been provided 1 like for a bluetooth headset

but for bluejackin a passkey wont work

Is this true?
How did you manage to bluejack the phone and get access to the net without agreeing a passkey?
Is it possible on a T68 and PPC (does PPC mean Pocket PC?)
Does this mean they paid for the cost of the GPRS call? 😮

Yes, PPC means Pocket PC and it was using the bluetooth program that comes with the Siemens Loox, it wasn't connecting to GPRS...it was using the phone as a dialup modem...so I was getting it to call my ISP...but to do this the phone has to be set to "Always on" BT which is very rare...I happened to notice the blue light was flashing on one in a pub about a month ago...called Freeserve from that phone...and hey presto...9.6k net connection 😃 😃

Hey Jordan,

I sure hope somebody reads this and bills you for that. I mean, as fun as it sounds you're actually stealing from somebody, I wouldn't be so proud to post this.

I completely agree with you...nothing at all to be proud of..and not something I tend to walk around looking to do.

I was just writing the fact that I was able to do it, as people were already discussing "bluejacking", which when you think about it is pretty much "warchalking" which is when people use 802.11b networks to access the net....but on a very small scale.

I used the said T68i for about 2 mins, I was in a pub...don't you think I had better things to do? 😃
what's a bluejack?
Not sure that isn't an "official" term for it...but using a bluetooth device to force access to the internet from another BT device...so using a random phone from your phone/latop/PPC to retreive mail and such.
Sure hope so, like setting the phone on vibrate... 😃
😃 - I was thinking more along the lines of getting drunk...but sure 😃
