ive a nokia 3650 with Vodafone Branding....
is there a possibility to delete the Vodafone Branding.....or is it necersarry to update the firmware ????
with nokia pc suite and the backup function ??? (if someone have an original Nokia Backup without appz)

I think he means the Vodafone Live stuff which replaces Services, the unremovable Favourites, etc etc.
I suppose it has the red colour scheme, which is hidden in all s60 phones..
doesn't he mean that the phone is locked to vodafone.. mine is.. for 12 months.. then I can pay a fee to get it unlocked
there are sites on the internet which will unlock your fone for a small fee no matter how long you have had it.
no...only the favourite menu....and the vodafone setting.....
after a warm start all d2 vodafone settings are replaced....
can anyone help me.....
I am 99% sure that the Vodafone settings are stored on ROM so you can't directly remove them, but by creating duplicates on the C:\ with the data from a non-Vodafone phone, it *should* read the C:\ files, not the ROM ones.
Never tried it though because I don't have a Vodafone phone.

I think that the hardcoded favourites are stored on Z: so only way of changing that would be flashing firmware that was not edited by vodafone.
I have a nokia 3650 with Vodafone, had it for a week and got it unlocked, every thing seemed fine, but tonight I started to set up a background picture, that took ages then the phone would never start up.
When I press the on button, the Nokia sign comes on, then fades, it does this for a about five times and then the screen goes blank. i can not believe I have managed to bust my phone in under a month.
Any one else had this problem?
pk501 - take it back to your nearest vodafone store. My local one has replaced two phones, one with a constant "system error" when I did anything and the other with the problem you describe.

The only poo, is that I had just had my phone unlocked, doh.
I wondering if this is a fault with the Vodafone firmware! If so I may try get carphone Warehouse (nokia service center for me) perhaps getting the latest firmware may help, and non vodafone firmware as well : ). Has any one tried this?

don't worry about it being unlocked. They will never be able to tell cos the phone won't start. And if you are worried you're going to have to spend more getting the new one unlocked do a search on the web, many places do it for free.
All they do is get a new one from out back and swap it with your phone.
The woman in the store also gave me the phone with the 16mb card in, even though the phone I gave her was minus my 128 card.

Today i gave my 7650 to my Vodafone store, i had the same problem as you. I saw the nokia logo, then it faded away, did this sometimes and then died. Hope i get a new one, had some annoying dust on the display 😊
