Remote Sync

I'd like to get this working, so I can sync with my home machine when I'm away. I'm assuming you need to run some sort of internet available service from the remote PC?

Has anyone done this? If so, please tell me how!

Ian

I'm in the process of trying to get multisync working (http://multisync.sourceforge.net/) which has a plugin for evolution to syncML (linux only)

I can get it to do some remote syncing, however the bit i want to get working is the bluetooth side of, so that when i walk back into my flat it just sync's my diary / contacts without having to use GPRS, so i can do the bit you are trying to do, just not the cheaper option...

Syncing via Bluetooth is easy to configure, I'm not sure how you'd go about making it auto sync when you walk in the room, I need to manually establish a COM connection on my bluetooth software before the phone will connect. Anyway, that's not the focus of this thread.

Syncing via the Internet requires a service running on the server. I'm looking for some software that will do this. Multisync looks like the sort of software I'm after, although I'm a Windows XP user and therefore Linux programs are no use to me! Sorry!

I'll keep looking, and post anything I find on this thread.

Thanks,

Ian
