FIGHT THE POWER!!!!!!!!

my poll in community wafle has been locked, and i see no legitimate reason for this.
i totally agree with the opinions of dazler but i strongly disagree with him locking my poll! just because its not good dosnt mean we have to pretend like its not happening. i just wanted to get an idea of the popularity of cracked software incomparison to legit ones. im sure there is NO harm what so ever in the poll.

stop this injustice!! fight the power of opression!!! 😮

Why are you trying to cause trouble here by getting the members to rebel against the desision of the moderators?

Their desision is final - the AAS T's&C's clearly states this and clearly states WAREZ disccusions are NOT welcome here.

As members WE LIKE IT THIS WAY thank you very much!

So please politly go away and cause trouble else where...

Just my opinion 😉

Will

Please stop going against the decision of the moderators and causing a fuss.

People like you we can do without.

Failure to comply will result in one warning issued.

I thank you for your co-operation.

I'd just like to back up both Dazler and j2k. Although in one sense there is nothing wrong with the poll (I see our point), Dazler took the same action I would have done if I had seen it. In terms of moderating it is far easier to just lock and/or delete posts that directly refer to warez as the main portion of their content. To say what is and what is not acceptable (in terms of warez dicsussion) makes things difficult to moderate therefore I issued the direction (and wrote it in to AUP) that no warez discussion is allowed.

The admins and moderators are well aware exists. I'm sure some of you use it. No one will hold it against you as such but don't expect to find these forums a welcoming place to discuss it.

ok ok, i accept defeat.

i was only tryin to have some fun but i understand and respect the decision of the mods and tony the tiger 😉 thank you for actually seeing my point, not many ppl do!!

"To say what is and what is not acceptable (in terms of warez dicsussion) makes things difficult to moderate"

Then by your own rules couldnt this topic be locked also? I think there needs to be rigid rules of what disscussions cross the lines and which ones don't. Mods shouldnt delete all posts that contain anything to do with warez, as often times the original posts are not condoning any type of illegal activity....

Mods should be properly trained as to what posts are not kosher, and which ones are.....

We do have rules.

If the topic is discussing where to get warez, how to get warez and/or whether or not people use warez, the topic is locked.

If it's simply a civil discussion regarding the topic in general, we usually don't lock such posts.

And the moderators are trained (albeit not 'formally'😉 for their job.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, it's not implied...just that it's been a busy week, and people effectively cricitising our moderating on AAS tends to get me slightly annoyed.

Cheers

You're quoting me there - which is fine, but in case you're not aware I'm not only a moderator I'm an admin and founder of this site. I was attempting to explain the situation.

I give moderators general guidelines, and therefore if they're doing something wrong it is my fault. You are more than welcome to e-mail me personally and I'll try and answer any query / complaint you may have.

Bare in mind the moderators are all volunteers as such they are giving their time for free to make this a better community. There's no formal training as such (I'd be open to a suggestion to change this, but in all honesty I don't have enough time - I have to prioritise). Indeed most recruited moderators are given plenty of leeway. AAS is not about having cast iron rules - but rather trying to encourage a firendly and helpful community.

Rereading my first post I know its not very clear - trying to type too quickly probably 😊

Just to make it clear I was trying to say deciding what forum policy should be is not easy. Do you allow discussion but not codes? If so where do you draw the line. In the rules say no warez at all. However the moderators (as encouraged by me) are free to intepret this as they see fit. This means that some discussion of warez (especially when a subpoint on a thread) is usually allowed (although this doesn't mean you can complain if something is removed!).

i know i'm just new in this forum but i do understand both sides. for me, we just have to respect whatever the decision and rules of the admins and moderators. an open communication among the members is very important to maintain the friendly atmosphere in this site 😊 😊
