divert icon appears after booting up

another strange one: when I boot up the phone, the divert icon appears under the battery, but... no divert active!

It disappears when I cancel the "divert"

Cannot work out why - any ideas???

Paul

Sounds to me like the SIM/network operator isn't saving the setting to "cancel diverts".

Try phoning your network operator and ask them to cancel (and/or block) diverts on your SIM, see if that helps.

Cheers

Thanks for your ideas j2k - in fact I've just changed sim card about a week ago, this problem was there before, and is still with me - also, even though the divert icon is there, the divert is not active (if I manually activate the divert, the icon appears, and the divert works).

after a long and tense discussion with the call centre of my operator, I was informed that the divert was not active at the time.

So, I don't think it's the sim or the operator, something deep inside the s60?

odd really...

Weird.

Try backing your stuff up, then *#7370# it. Sounds drastic, but it will rule out a software problem. Then restore the backup and see if the problem returns. If it doesn't, great, if it does, there must be some software causing it to screw up.

If that doesn't fix it, the only thing I can think it could possibly be is perhaps a hardware fault, but I really doubt that. It might be a faulty SIM? But then if you changed it a week ago and the problem persists, I really really doubt both SIMs are faulty.

Good luck!

yes, I think I will try a reset, although not just yet (too busy 😞 )

I too thought a new sim would resolve the issue (it's a 64k one), but alas no luck.

anyway, thanks a lot for your suggestions

Paul
