Recover from disaster? lost everything :-(

1 replies · 1,842 views · Started 14 July 2003

I had a complete system failure on my P800 this evening, and the last backup i made of the phone was over 2 months ago. Since then i have some very important new contacts added, important files and memos saved and sms messages recieved, that i really need to get back.

The phone reformatted in about 10 seconds after the apparent crash, after which every file, contact, memo, sms message had gone and i was left with the phone reverted to how it was when i first bought it.

I was wondering if there is any software at all that can recover files from the phone? I know that such programs exist on PC's to recover data, but never heard or seen one for the P800.

Please help!!!

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry once you hit the red button, the operation action can not be undo. Unlike HDD in pcs, datas can be recovered if you have not format or fixdisk. Datas in phone works differently. It's stored in EROM not magnatic disks.

If you flush data in the EROM, it's gone forever.

ALways backup your data everyday if possible. Sorry to hear about your phone.
