Hello all,

I am having problems with the installation of apps. I have some questions also.
Everytime I try to install an .sis app (opera, mastersoft money, app cd, etc..) I first get the installation screen with the Language (UK) as the only option. I have the American Language selected. Also if I select UK language and continue the install, I get the error "The phone has disconnected". I did a Master Reset and still the same problem. I also searched the forum but I couldn't find a resolution. Anyone have one or some ideas.

Thanks.

I'm sorry but I forgot to say that I am using a USB cable connection to a laptop. I installed the newest version of PC Suite from SE. Also the language that all the applications are asking for during installation is English(UK), not Language(UK)

I couldn't find the English (UK) language pack for R1G. I downloaded the American English Pack instead. I was able to delete the American English language from Control Panel, Language Selection. I guess it defaults to English UK because I can never delete this one. I was able to install the American English Language pack after I deleted the old one and select it. I still have the phone is disconnected error whenever I install an application.

Thanks.

Hmm, I don't know why your connection breaks when you try to install an app, but there's other ways of getting those apps on your phone. You could simply copy(drag and drop) the app over and start the installation from within the P800. You can also e-mail it to your phone, or download the application through WAP.

Have you tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling PC-Suite?

Yes I have reinstalled both versions of PC Suite. If I drag and drop the app to my phone it copies fine. I get an "access denied" on the install but I'll figure it out. This is the first time that I tried to install an application.

I am sending in my phone. I was sent an English(UK) version and not an English (US) version. They are going to repair it.

It is weird why it craps out like it does.

Thanks.

Hmm, bummer..

You mentioned that you've tried a Master Reset, but have you tried a "real" FORMAT of your P800?(In FC mode - jogdial UP * DOWN DOWN * DOWN * -Option #5-Format internal disk)

If I do a full reformat what do I do next. If I restore it with my backup wouldn't that be the same corruption, if that were the case.

Well, a restore should normally NOT bring back a corrupt file etc. to your P800, but no guaranties. The safest way is to just manually restore everything after the format. -I know it's a pain though.. 😞

Good luck. 😊
