Weird P800 Error

6 replies · 1,600 views · Started 15 July 2003

Dont know if anyone else has experienced this but I sometimes my P800 just stops working. It displays a message with a clock with 10 min on it and an arrow pointing to the off switch.

I suppose its telling me to switch the phone off but when I try to it doesnt let me. The only thing I can do is take the battery out and start it up again. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone know why this happens??? :-?

Also I recently had my notes section delete itself. Nothing else was affected but have lost all my notes now. Is it possible to back up just one part of the phone ie. notes, contacts...etc..

Glad to hear that its not just my phone doing this 😃

What version of the firmware are you on? I'm on R1D

Folks

This is not a weird error etc but a message telling you to do a soft reset.

The arrow pointing to the off switch also has 10 next to it!

Hold the off switch for 10 seconds - eventually your screen will fade out and a soft reset will be performed. Turn the phone on again to get full functionality back.

It isn't clear why/when this happens - but probably from bugs in the OS/3rd party apps/ Version R2D does this less often (apperently!)

Cheers

hold the button for 10 seconds - that is what it is telling you to do. It has a non-recoverable fault and is being helpful 😊

Many thanks for that Guys... 😊

But anyone know why a section of the phone might lose data? As I lost all my 'notes' the other day without anything else being affected...

Can I just restore the notes back to my phone???

Sounds like a system failure. To restart: (1) press & hold On/Off button for at least 10 sec to turn P800 off; then (2) restart as normal.
