Maximum Memory 1GB ?

hey ppl whts the maximum memory u can have on the p800 as yet. is it still 128mb or 256mb. i dont have a p800 as yet so i dunno but i was wondering if the 1 GB Mmc worked on the p800 as well as it does on its latest camcorders. me very confused with this mmc thingy.

The P800 doesn't use MMC, but Memory Stick DUO. Of which the highest capacity available is 128MB -As well as the max capacity supported by the P800 itselves.

There is also a Memory Stick "Jacket" available for the P800 which lets you use normal Memory Sticks, but again the P800 only supports 128MB external memory. But I guess it could be made to support higher capacity memory sticks in the future through a firmware upgrade.

A mate at work has had two upgrades, he said the second one allowed 128MB+
It wasnt very stable tho, so he went back a version. I have seen a pic of a 256MB MS Duo

doesn meant that P800 can support up to 256MB, but hopefully it will in the future with the firmware upgrade!

k at this point 128mb is the max. and the upgrade thing , how is it cuz of the fw. wht colour are the p800 mmc's then ? i wna know diff. between memory stick and that adaptor duo or whtever its called. and also if i have a camcorder (mini dv) can i use the mmc of the camcorder and put in p800 to watch the files. thts wht i need to know since i am plannin to get the TRV-22 camcorder and p800 later this yr. 😊 below is the pic i wanted to know wht those 2 memory things are (circled itemsin black). how do u used them ? ? ? .

The small blue thing is a Memeory Stick duo. That's the memory stick used by the P800. The Larger white one is a Memory Stick Adaptor. This allows you to use the MS Duo in a normal Memory stick device. Put the Duo in the adaptor and slot the whole lot into the normal Memory Stick slot.

If the DV camera takes the Sony Memory stick, then you can use the Memory Stick duo from a P800 in it (using the adaptor shown in the pic).

BUT Only up to 128MB at the moment

AND

There may be problems with the P800 reading the files if the two devices use different file structures. I.E. the DV Camera will place the video files in one folder and the P800 will expect them to be in another.

Sorry the the blurry images.

ok i think i am gettin the hang of this. but the adaptor is longer than the memory duo of the p800, is the slot in the p800 big enough ? so i am guessin u either put the memory card duo or the adaptor with the standard mmc right ? only one at a time yea ? can i have more pix if the whole procedure if u ppl dont mind

FORGET THE MMC..U CANT PUT A MMC IN THE P800..WITH OR WITHOUT A ADAPTOR..U JUST PUT THE FRICKING DUO INTO THE SLOT..THATS IT..

and also how many extra styles' are givin . i have read 4+1 but in my country its only 1+1 that they are givin dunno y is that

3 in a bag, and 1 attatched to the phone

(there are still reviews out their which say different but only because they were written donkies years ago, they even say it has t9 which ain't true)

p800 aint got T9. ? ? ? now i dint know that 1 ? also my cuz is in the uk for a while and he said that p800 is for 300 pounds ? is that true. ne1 from the uk to back this up

You dont use the adapter for Memory Stick Duo when you put it into P800. That Adapter is used when you want to use Memory Stick Duo on a device that read Memory Stick and since Memory Stick Duo is smaller in size, thus you need the adapter then. NO MMC card is used on P800.

Yes, P800 has no T9. Price for P800 in UK is around 300 without contract.

Where have you seen that?!!!

Everywhere I've seen it SIM free it's 400-430. And that's after the (very) recent price drop.

yeah, on a user choosable tariff, the phone is around 200-300, you pay more to be able to go on a cheaper tariff, the cheapest place to buy the phone on a user choosable tariff (not set on any certain amount of money tariff for any amount of set moneths) for 180 which is at the cheshire oak outlet where there is 30% off every phone on new contract

nk8 can u tell me where to get a sim free p800 for under 300 pounds plz. since my bro is comin here in august i can get it then ? i think he is near harrow or kent or whtever that is. its far frm manchester i know , but can u help in plz. thx
