Which is the max. size you can set for standby mode?

You mean the backround picture size? I'm not sure, but my backround pictures are 174x132 pix. Wonder if it's possible to fill the whole area between the two action buttons and the profile bar with a picture, so there wouldn't be that irritating white line under the profile bar?

174x132 is the actual size. You can't fill that white bar. If you want to make it a little bit better, you can activate bluetooth and IR, have something unread in you inbox... 😉
