I've had my p800 for a couple of weeks now (R1D) and I've installed quite a few apps on it with no crashing problems.
Anyway, because I like to tinker I backed up the phone then did a system reset followed by a full restore. I got everything back (including the call logs, what a useful thing that is) but now when I close an app I occasionally get the unrecoverable error display and I have to do a soft reset to get the phone back on. 😮ops:
What I learned from this? I think that it is probably better to reinstall all apps after a reset rather than restoring a backup.
Does anyone else have an altternative solution? Should I uninstall and reinstall the app that caused the crash alone?
I suspect you did a "Master Reset" before the restore? I would suggest you try a "real" format. -In Flip Closed mode turn the jog dial UP * DOWN DOWN * DOWN * -Option number 5-Format internal disk(only move the jog dial ONE step at the time) - followed by restoring your latest backup. This should remedy your P800's file system.
I think I'll save that for when it's really necessary. As I understand it that will also kill the Vodafone start up logo which, while quite naff, is something I like 😊
Then perhaps you may need to let Vodafone's tech to flush your phone then.

Thanks Edgedale, that's a good idea.
Now I just have to decide when I can manage without my phone for 10 days 😞
Could use file manager to find the start up and shut down mp4s, copy them to your video folder, then to your pc, do the formatt etc and copy them back
Even better! Now I can get it down on the spot at Carphone Warehouse in Bristol 😊
Cheers Sidney!
