irRemote/External modem problem (I think)

Please help, someone. I have been depressed since 32 hours. The infrared port on my 9290 is activated and there is no way to turn it off. I tried rebooting many many times.

I made configuration changes so that I could use an external modem in the UK for internet access. It worked fine a couple of times. Also, I installed irRemote and tried to use it. But no device worked with irRemote. Yesterday, I was trying to record some sound and I noticed that the IR indicator was on (This looks different from the one that comes up when you sync using IR). It seems to be trying to send something over IR. I am able to send files but unable to receive. Also, I can't sync anymore using IR or data cable.

Any suggestions 😞

Thanks
Abhijit.

Well, the infrared deactivated by itself after 37 hours - after 15 reboots and draining the battery from half full charge to ZERO!

Ok your problem is the file Cdbv2.dat C:\System\Data\Cdbv2.dat you will need to turn on show system folder in file manager to find it.This happens if you modify the file using t_editdb or replace the file to use the IrDA port with another mobile of travel modem for web/email, I use two files one for the phone modem & one for the IrDA port (Keep them in seperate folders & over write the original with the one I want to use.To cure the problem make sure you have copies of your modified file or files (Cdbv2.dat) reboot & then keep pressing shift/Ctrl/Chr/K until the 9210 reboots then go to file manager & delete Cdbv2.dat (You can't do it before as the file will be in use), Reboot again & copy your original modified file or whichever of your two files you want to use if like me you have phone/IrDa files. Hope this is of some help to you.
