sync my phone with my email client!

I accidentally delted loads of important work emails from my mail client (exchange server based) this morning and have been panicing ever since.

Then I realised they're all safely stored on my P800. If I sync, it'll delete them. Can I get them off the phone, back into outlook???

Ian

Could you create a new Outlook user\profile, point your synch software to that and then synch? Then the phone would be the most recent update of your email and everything should get copied into that Outlook user\profile.

If email is from an Exhange server, go "Deleted Items" (the wastebasket folder) in Outlook, and use the "Recover Deleted Items..." option in the "Tools" menu.

Or use the browser-based Outlook Web Access client, OWA, and with it select "Options" and in the "Recover Deleted Items" click on "View Items".

If that doesn't help, talk to your Exchange system administrator.

can't create a new profile and there's nothing in my deleted items for some reason! Wierd (I am using Outlook 2003 Beta though!!)

Use the same profile/account.

Deleted Items is usually emptied when you exit Outlook, but through the "Recover Deleted Items..." menu option, you can get them back for a certain period (defined by the Exchange admins).

I've never used Outlook 2003, so I don't know if/how things are different with it.

I've tried recover deleted item and there's nothing in there.

If I backup phone, atetmpt a sync and lose my emails can I restore the emails with a phone restore?

A backup (before sync) + restore should get your messages back, if the backup was complete & OK.

Can you change your sync settings (I don't know the P800 sync sw very well), so that items on the phone are always copied to the PC (phone overrides PC, instead of vice versa).

You can still try the OWA client or ask your Exchange administrator(s) for their message retention policy for delete messages (= for how long they are recoverable).
