Wanna share this disgrace incident with all of you here. Taken from a email i recv' this morning and it's disturb me alot. You know what i mean after reading this acticle.
================================================
Hi frenz,
Last Sunday, we did a grocery fair for the needy selling basic household
foodstuffs for a real bargain (super cheap e.g. rice for only $4.00 per
pkt - usual price $7.00 plus)... This is a community service that we
undertake from time to time. There were no profits (all proceeds from the sale goes to an oldfolk's home) and all helpers are volunteers who sacrificed their Sunday for a good cause...
The organising of the event was greeted with enthusiasm by every
volunteer but all of us were dismayed by how ugly Singaporeans made this event a heart-breaking one...
Attracted by the super-cheap prices of the products, thousands of
Singaporeans flocked to the fair at Mountbatten Community Centre (many
in their Merz & BMWs)... they bull-dozed their way to compete for these
bargained items meant for the poor and needy... they grabbed all that
they could (with their superior financial power) leaving those poor and
needy with little left to buy...
The rice offer was completely SOLD OUT in less than 2 hours... my heart
sank when I saw an old lady counting how much money she had in her
purse thinking very hard to see what she could get with it... obviously, she
can't afford everything sold there... and then... a man wearing a Rolex
King bought the last packet of rice... my friend who was also a volunteer
refused to sell it to him but sold it to the old lady instead... that man
then started banging tables and shouted at my friend saying he was
there first and insisted that she sold the packet of rice to him... shouting
things like "WHAT! I got no money to pay for it is it?".... the poor old
lady was embarrassed and told my friend, "Never mind lah, he was here
first, give it to him"....
It was really ugly... what pissed me off was that the man was wearing a
Rolex King and he's fighting over a packet of rice with a poor old lady
who only has $10.00 in her purse to get as much as she could... I walked
over to that man and gave him a piece of my mind... I told him that he's so ugly and he's like stealing from a beggar... I took out $4.00 (being the
difference for the rice that's on offer) and told him to "FUCK OFF!!!!
Take this money and go buy your rice from NTUC"....
He still didn't get the message... he threw the money at my face and
said... "What kind of attitude is this? Where's your boss? I wanna complain!"... I told him that we have no bosses here... this is a charity event and all of us were volunteers here... I told him that he either take my money and leave or I"ll have the security to escort him out stressing that under Penal Code 103, my security can use force to subdue someone who is resisting escort to leave and creating a nuisance... and I told him
that I'm sure that they can't wait to be given an opportunity to do juz
that... "You can pick up your phone to call your lawyer to verify if we have
that right to do that if you want".... (of coz I dunno what the heck Penal
Code 103 was but juz I know that I came across that in my army days on
Protected Areas & Places Act or something like that but I figured that THAT
"chow-ah-beng" wouldn't know either lah)...
This event is a shame for Singaporeans... time and again, Singaporeans
had showed that they are nothing but a breed of selfish bastard, self-centered, arrogant and simply "NO-CLASS".... an absolute utterly disgrace...
Hope that you would circulate this to all your friends hoping that this
will find and reach that bastard (who knows he may be a friend of a
friend of yours or someone u know who knows him)... hope that he could reflect upon himself... and hopefully come to his senses... its really ugly...
Cheers...
