Question about YFTP

Hi,

Is it possible to use YFTP with a WAP GPRS connection to upload my files to a server?

I have an unlimited WAP GPRS access for only 6Euros per month... 😉

Thanks for you help

Note: I meant that I want to use the WAP (GPRS) protocol to upload my files.

Only if your operator has a WAP gateway that can handle it (do whatever protocol conversions would have to be done), but I doubt that to be the case with any operator.

You most likely need to subscribe to a GPRS plan that allows "normal" internet access, too.

i used to use yftp with wap as i had lots of free minutes off peak, but that, and both gprs worked (full internet and also the capped one only for wap over gprs)

6 euros, flat rate?WOW! We just got GPRS here and it costs like hell.

GPRS WAP:120 KB = 1 euro
GRPS WEB:3 MB = 1 euro.

1.02 (apprx 1.43 Euro) per Mb on Vodafone/Live service (0.1p per Kb)
7.48 (apprx 10.52 Euro) per Mb on other GPRS access (0.73p per Kb)

In France we have

GPRS WAP: unlimited = 6 Euro (unlimited = in fact ~100 Mb/month)
GPRS WEB: 10 Mb = 6 Euro

The three GSM operators (Orange, SFR, Bougues) have similar for GPRS WAP 😉

Yes,but in the UK,wap prices are really low right?Whats Vodafone/Life?Do you know what is the average pay here?I bet its 10 times(maybe more)less then the average pay in the UK.

We got a second operator just couple of months ago, things changed but nothing much really.Mobile services are still expensive as hell.

I am not sure about the Monthly billed tariffs, but on Pay As You Go tariffs the GPRS costs are high.

Although in the news today (on BBC.co.uk website) they say that this weeks call charges are set to drop, but I bet will only be Monthly Billed clients. The article also mentions that they will possibly change other

Although it's no longer available i currently have a gprs bundle of 100 megabytes for 10 per month on t-mobile uk, it was made available briefly to consumers but is now only available to people with n3650, n7650 and p800's to utilise their instant (push) e-mail service. :-?

(sorry in advance - i only remembered this after posting my last message) although oftel ruled in favour of reducing call termination charges this will not significantly affect mobile call costs - what it will do is lower your landline - mobile call costs as the networks have been ordered to cut the cost of connecting to a mobile from a landline. Hope this helps? :fadein:
