Can't activate infrared on my P800

Hi there,
I don't know if anyone can help me but I have just got a P800 and am trying to activate the infrared. In control panel/connections/infrared, each time I select 'on' and then click done, activation does not happen. When I go back in to the activation screen, the 'off' box is checked. Am I missing something?

What you say sounds like you are operating correctly.
Works on mine anyway.
Have you tried 'on for 10 minutes' to see if that works?

If you are not getting any error messages, but still not getting the IR icon, it could be another application -- have you downloaded anything to the phone yet?

I haven't been able to download anything yet. I have done a master reset and the same thing happens.
