I have been looking through the API and I can`t seem to find the function calls to set the ringer profile (eg to silent profile, etc), or at least control the ringer volume. Can someone pls point me to the function calls in the API?

I really need help with this. Can't someone help me? How do u turn the phone into silent mode using C++? I've been looking searching through the web for info. What I have found.....
The SDK has the CMdaAudioClipUtility class an other similar classes. However they require some form of extension of the class (overriding) to use it. I'm new to C++ on Symbian, so this might be challanging for me.
Another method is to use the MiniBAE API. But it requires Codewarrior, and I can't afford it 😞
Is there another alternative I have yet to explore?

Yup, the developer community seams small and splitted.. different websites, different chat channels, etc. Best place to look ATM are the Symbian newsgroups, good ppl lurking there. 😊
