DesktopMessage for Nokia 7650/3650 by mobileways.de

Just found this on my-symbian.. DesktopMessage.

With DesktopMessage for Nokia 7650/3650 you can quickly send and manage SMS from your desktop PC. Download all SMS from your phone with one click, archive messages on your PC or delete them on your phone.

Finally you can send SMS from your PC without touching your phone. Just enter a new SMS or reply to an old one from your desktop PC. DesktopMessage for Nokia 7650/3650 will send the SMS right away via your connected Nokia 7650/3650.

Just tried it.. First impressions..

Easy to send sms. No hassle in connecting 😊

Nice feature, that it downloads your contacts.. But would be even better, if it had an edit contacts and synchronize feature 😃

In the choose contact window, you are not able to search or use Hotkeys (using a letter to go to nearest) etc.. Would be a Nice to have feature.

The sorting method is lastname, surname. No way to change that.

Also for some wierd reason, not all my contacts show in the choose contact window..

When having recieved a sms, you have to right click it and marked it read to not having it shown as unread on the phone.. Maybe would be good to have a setting, where you can decide how you want it..

Last thing.. Guess it is only in the trail version.. It says at the end of the sms. (Sent with DesktopMessage DEMO) :-s And in the read field, you are only able to read part of the sms..

But.. It works 😊 It really works well, sending sms 8)

I try to connect Desktop message to N7650 but not working, what is the way to connect it. There no help with the software....

1. Connect to the phone with mRouter
2. Run application on phone
3. Run application on PC
4. Press 'connect' button on PC application.

when I "4. Press 'connect' button on PC application. " the application begin to "download contact" and after put the application offline....

I have a real dumb question. This works based on the info that is on the phone correct? Is reception needed inorder for this to work? And what kind of connection is needed from phone to PC?

Hi,

unfortunately, there was a "minor" bug in 1.00 ( 😮ops: 😮ops: ) which should be fixed now. DesktopMessage was not working with phones having a large number of contacts.

We've submitted a bug-fix release (1.01) which you can download from here. It should solve the problems with DesktopMessage hanging at startup ...

Correct. It works based on the info that is on the phone. It retrieves your contact list first. then it collects the recieved and sent sms.

It also has a facility, that when you delete sms, it stores them in a 'Trash' folder located on the pc 😉

Reception is required. All is sent using the phone. Just no need to use the keypad to write sms 😃

Connection? Well I use BT and it works very well for me.

Thx for the update Ole. Hope to see this product develope. I am close to buying it. If sitting at the pc, might as well use the keyboard to write sms 8)

I just downloded the desktopmessage. It is not working. I dont know what is the reason. the application automaticlly close down in mobile. and not works. Is there is any bug in it ? Or what the problem?
