Disk Full Problem

I wonder if anyone can help? I cannot get my P800 to open beyond a message proclaiming "Disk Full". I can only get storage manager to open. Unfortunately due to an unrelated PC problem I find I now have have no back-up at all. Clearly the P800 is hanging up due to being full. It will not let me uninstall anything in storage manager either.

If the disk is full is it possible to access the data in any way? (I seem to remember some similar problems with PSIONs where the data could be retrieved by those in the know).

i just had the same problem a few days ago the phone wouldn't turn on at all, all i would feel is the vibrator when you push on the button, and realized that before that i used too get the message low in memory, what a bummer only a few times it would turn on but couldn't do anything to the phone "touchscreen didn't seem to function", i must of turned it off and on for a couple hours when suddenly the message low on memory came back up with the message saying "do you want to format the drive".thank god it works now but lost all my data!!! and since i had had problem w/ my pc and did a complete format on it too, i lost everything, but who cares right? So may be doing so may help you as well. good luck

Tips for all of you

Do not fill up your c:\ memory to the rim
Do install your appl on your MS unless it req to run in c:\

Clear and backup all your sms msg. Try to left about 4-5Meg of space for your phone.

yo, is the contacts stored on in the internal memory? and the sms messages too?

if so, how many roughly can i store before my phone becomes a paperweight?

any rought figures or something like that?

i think sms and contacts are along with the shared memory, so if ur c: is empty, you can store 12meg worth of sms and contacts (hah beat that nokia! 😃 )

It happens to me one night i took too many pics and fill both the phone and MSD memory. I have to format the disk, so i lost everithing but the things i kept on MSD.

If you have access to the disk from PC FileManager or the QFileManager, try to delete a file in c:\ called SlopFile.ini to free some memory.

Better than SMS; look in your E-Mail 'Sent' items; mine was full of picture attachments - cleared down a few MB just in there.

Re. not installing on C: -- once you have more than one memory stick, or are using a card reader to fill it witl MP3s, installing things like Handy Day, Opera etc to C: becomes quite sensible -- they are still there when you take the card out.
