I have had my N7650 on pre-order from the link for 2 months now and I am still being told that it will not be released for another 2 - 3 weeks even though it is available at carphone warehouse etc.
I ask why and they said that they are waiting for the official release, when the network providers approve the phone, as there will be minor bugs in the unapproved phones.
My problems is should I wait, or should I get one from somewhere else?
Will the bugs be with the phone of the networks themselfs?
Any suggestions?
I don't know how mobile phones are "officially approved" by operators in different countries, but A) the official release version of the 7650 is v3.12 which is already available and B) I don't know any bugs that should prevent them from already offering the 7650.
There are rumours that software upgrade v3.14 would be coming soon from Nokia, but it's not publicly available yet. I don't know what issues it fixes, but maybe some operators want to wait for it. This is just my own wild guess.
They could also be waiting until there are MMS services available in your country. Because there's a camera in the 7650, many operator's hope to start making money with (over-priced) MMS messages and services.
Or, it could be that they just haven't got their shipment of the 7650 phones yet are simply bluffing. 😊
I have understood that many stores already sell the 7650 in the UK so you can very well get the phone from them.
