Personal Jotter is a tool for enhancing input of text on the P800. Over time Personal Jotter will automatically learn your language and your vocabulary and it will suggest completions while you write. This makes Personal Jotter a faster editor for writing e-mail or SMS or other texts. With experience and with a growing database of vocabulary, Personal Jotter can make you significantly faster when writing.
Overview of Features in version 1.0
Self-learning suggestion system that suggests word completions while you write. Suggestion can be selected from a list that is alphanumerically ordered or from a list that is ordered by frequency of usage.
The editor features Copy, Cut and Paste
Undo and Redo up to 16 steps.
Possibility to define your own templates for easy entry of things than you tend to write often.
Saving and loading of the text files.
Copy text buffer and go directly to another program via shortcuts.
The P800-emoticons can be accessed from a list.
Downloaded Trial. Bloody fantastic. Will be buying.
Word of caution though, it seems to use about 3MB of your available memory when running. Not the sort of thing you want to leave running in the background!
Bassey make sure u uninstall version 1 asap and install version 1.01 seems to be a bug in there wich makes u loose ur agenda and notes and stuff like that
😉
Will do Yoeppie, cheers for the tip. Check Notes and Calendr and no probs so far though.
how do i clear the database?
Is it possible to edit the database? I'm just curious about something. If you made a spelling error/typo, according to what is being said, the program would learn the word incorrectly spelled, and then keep bringing it up each time. Is this assumption correct or am I missing something?
I really like the app but the ability to edit the database is really essential. Can anyone advise, if it's possible, I'll buy without a doubt.
If this program also linked with Advanced English Dictionary it would be perfect.
yes, that's a problem, hence my post, it's learnt a word spelt wrongly, and the text boix above where you write stuff in, say you select "copy and go to sms" when you go back to jotter, it still has the text their, their is no real way of deleting the text unless you highlight it all and then delete it, i'd prefer it if their was like a clear all button to clear the text box, but i guess it will improve speeds over time after writing abotu 100 text messages
okay, i just put a dictionary file into my phone and made it learn it all, now it's taking up 500 kb and is really slow, where is the installation files kept for this programme and which file manager do i need to see it? i'm using stackers and trackers file manager, and they're not showing all folders on the c:\
okay, i sorted out the system file, now to scope out the database file 8)

Out of curiosity, what's the rough word count of the dictionary you taught the app?
microsoft word says 32,439 words, 270,485 characters
I have mailed the programmer with the quistion bout editing the words in the database but he has not replyed yet so wil get back to u on that when i hear something

surely the point of this app is not to fill it up with 30,000 words but just the ones you use most often in your messages.
I mean there is only room to show 5 of the variations on the screen underneath - if I want to type "dinner" I don't want to have to "dinosaur" come up as an option after 3 letters....
U can always set it to (by frequency) so it will show the 5 most used words first

There is file in ur c:\system\apps\symmetricdog
named words.db this contains the words and its a
txt file u can edit i have not checked it yet but that should work
😊
Yes, you are right, I have managed to edit this file. It's a bit of a faff but does the trick. I think the facility should be incorporated into the software anyway. It's a shame it's not but I think I'll buy this anyway. Thanks for pointing out the file.

nice one dude, do you think i'd be able to delete this file and the programme will automatically create a new one? or will i need to uninstall the programme and then reintall it again

Why don't you just edit the text file, deleting the content rather than the entire file. That should work, I've editied the file with no problems.
ummkay, well i have two files, the words.db and also words.db.bak, both are idetical, can i remove the bacup one? i've edited the word.db one (well deleted all the words)

Dunno. I after editing my word.db and saving, I then "saved as" that file to word.db.bak, which did overwrite the original backup file so the two contained identical data. It worked for me. I didn't try deleting either file.
i deleted both of them, then created a new note pad file, renamed it to word.db and sent it to my phone, saved it to others, and then moved it to the right folder, then after opening up pjotter and saving a word in it, it automatically created the word.db.bac, although i'm sure that if both the files are deleted, it would create a nu one automatically, but it's too late for me to try now
Have you succeeded in editing the txtfile?
Sorry!
I didn's see that there was one more page on this subject. I have managed to edit the file now. But I have another problem. How do I transfer my text to a templet? I can't copy my text to a templet.
