Hi- I just bought a 128 mb MMC card and the phone (3650) says that it is corrupt! Nokia won't give me support because it isn't their card!

Can anyone help me? The card works fine in my Pocket PC. Thank you!

Have you used the card before or was it brand new? The card might need to be reformatted by using a card reader. I hope this helps a little to put you in the right direction... and you can keep the $5.00 😃

Hehe. Thanks about the $5. I tried reformatting using the PocketPC in three formats: FAT12, FAT16, FAT32. It works in the pocket pc but in the phone. Would a card reader format it differently than hte pocket pc? Thanks!

You need to format the card right in your phone.
Click on Extras, click on Memory, click on Options, select Format mem. card.
That's it. Just wait for a while during formatting - it takes time.

Did you consider that your MMC card may not be compatible with 3650.

I personally have RiDATA & Crucial 128MB MMC cards, and they work fine. However, my PDC 256MB MMC card works in other devices but my 3650.

What is the make of your card? Search on MMC card and check if you could find anyone else using the same card.

I have a friend with a 3650. The thing is I brough him a MMC (8MB) I had. It was from my JVC Digital Camera, I used it to format it and the card works fine in the 3650. I don't know what format I used though. I only formated the card with the phone and connected the camera to the PC to transfer the files from PC to Card.

The same thing happened to me. I bought a TwinMOS 128MB MMC and I tried it on my phone but it says that the memory card was corrupted. I tried formatting it but it only formats the card for a few seconds. Then I tried to rename the card it says memory card corrupted. By this time I thought that it might not be compatible with 3650.

I got so frustrated so I went to buy a new MMC with a different brand. I can't remember what the brand was but it worked. I made sure I tried it at the shop first. Everything went smooth and I was happy! 😊

I emailed TwinMOS about the MMC but never got the reply. Avoided Nokia's support since it's not their product. Now I have an unused memory card lying on my table...

Same happened to me, but I kept trying untill it formatted it with no problems...

Guys...it is possible that the card is "pre-formatted" on another device which prevents it from being formatted on the phone.
you mean you kept on trying to format it and in the end it worked?? Do u mean to say that it works now?
yep
