Interesting Question

Hi- I just bought a 128 mb MMC card and the phone (3650) says that it is corrupt! Nokia won't give me support because it isn't their card!

Can anyone help me? The card works fine in my Pocket PC. Thank you!

"Interesting" isn't what I would call the question. And something like "Phone says xxx 128MB MMC is corrupt, but it works elsewhere" or something similar would be a better subject, I think. With "xxx" being the MMC maker's name.

In any case, whose MMC (what's the manufacturer's name)? Does it have a part number (and if so, what)? From where did you purchase it? Did you try to format it (on the phone? on your PocketPC PDA? both? somewhere else?)?

What phone firmware version (type *#0000* to see)?

Which PocketPC PDA has an MMC slot, by the way?

Hi- Sorry if the subject annoyed you. I'll think more next time...

Anyway, the card I bought new on Ebay. I have firmware 2.54 and my Dell Axim has a SD/MMC card slot. I tried formatting on the phone, and it says it finishes but I don't think it does because it only takes 1 second to format.

There seems to be no manufacturer, but the part number is: FMM128S. Also, I tried formatting it on the PDA, and I can format it in FAT12, 16, or 32. I tried most of the different formats and still can't work. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Just try formating several times...
Eventually it will do so, it takes around 15 minutes to format.

Format using the phone or the PDA? Thanks. I've already formated the 128 card about 10 times... Thanks for all the help 😊

Yea, can someone clarify the MMC memory card corrupt problem? I'm having the same problem...

My problem is similar... My card will work after I format it in my PDA for a few minutes. It will let me BACKUP my phone data onto it. But in the original camera program, when I choose to save images to the memory card, it stops working. HELP ME!

Sounds fishy. Maybe there's some "leeway" in the MMC specs so that all MMC readers can't handle all MMC cards properly.

All I can suggest is trying another MMC (perhaps one that's properly branded, such as from SanDisk, etc.) and see if it works any better.

If it does, then it is more likely that there's something wrong with the first MMC.

If the second MMC also doesn't work, then it is likely a problem with/on the phone.

Alternatively, try to find someone else with a 3650 (go, e.g., to a store selling them and try out the problem MMC there).

Just found this on another forum:

Firmware: v2.50
Brand: PQI
Size: 128 Mb (Works perfectly)

However - I did have:
Brand: TwinMOS
Size:128 Mb

This is the important bit - TwinMOS part number = FMM128S - This card DOES NOT work!!!

My partner also has the same brand card, but with the TwinMOS part number = FMM128SHI - This card DOES work!

There is an incompatability with the TwinMOS card I had, you need to check the part number before ordering.

Hope this info is helpful as I couldn't work out why mine wouldn't work and the other one did.

Can you tell me who wrote this? I want to ask them a question...
